We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Industrial Electrical Engineer/Electrician to join our dynamic team.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Fabrication Tasks:
- Reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and specifications to understand the requirements of a project.
- Cutting, bending, and shaping metal components using various tools such as saws, shears, and presses.
- Assembling fabricated metal parts using techniques like welding, bolting, riveting, or soldering.
- Operating machinery such as drills, lathes, milling machines, and grinders to fabricate metal parts to precise specifications.
- Ensuring accuracy and quality in all fabricated components to meet project standards and specifications.
Welding Tasks:
- Performing various welding techniques including MIG, TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), and stick welding.
- Selecting appropriate welding materials and equipment based on the type and thickness of metal being welded.
- Preparing metal surfaces by cleaning, grinding, and beveling to ensure proper welding.
- Setting up welding equipment, including adjusting voltage, current, and gas flow settings.
- Welding components together using the appropriate welding technique and ensuring the structural integrity of the welds.
- Conducting quality inspections of welded joints to detect defects and ensure compliance with welding codes and standards.
Safety and Maintenance:
- Adhering to safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.
- Maintaining welding and fabrication equipment by performing regular inspections, cleaning, and troubleshooting.
- Properly storing and handling hazardous materials such as welding gases and chemicals.
- Identifying and reporting any safety hazards or equipment malfunctions to supervisors.
Communication and Collaboration:
- Collaborating with engineers, designers, and other team members to clarify project requirements and resolve any issues that arise during fabrication and welding processes.
- Communicating effectively with supervisors and team members to provide progress updates and discuss any challenges or concerns.
- Following instructions and asking for clarification when needed to ensure tasks are completed accurately and on time.
Continuous Improvement:
- Staying informed about advancements in fabrication and welding techniques, and materials.
- Participating in training programs or continuing education courses to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Offering suggestions for process improvements or efficiency enhancements to streamline fabrication and welding processes.

- Monday to Friday + some weekends
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Stirling, ON K0K 3E0: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
Education:
- Secondary school or higher (preferred)
Experience:
- Min 5 years (preferred)
Willingness to travel:
- 25% (preferred)
